Until the end of August, Bookshare is offering a free, 3-month, 20-book downloads per month, trial membership to anyone who is an American citizen with a qualifying disability. After the free trial is over, Bookshare will waive the normal $25 set-up fee, making it only $50 for trial members to subscribe. Qualifying disabilities include, but are not limited to, visual impairment, learning disabilities, physical disabilities that prevent a person from holding a book, and certain types of traumatic brain injury.
Bookshare also provides free yearly accounts to anyone who is a student, regardless of age or path of study. This is the first time Bookshare has reached out to those who are not in school to provide free access to all disabled adults who want service.
Please share Bookshare's offer with as many disabled adults as you can, especially veterans, senior citizens, and others who could benefit from it. You can learn more by visiting Bookshare ( http://www.bookshare.org/_/aboutUs/2010/07/ada20Anniversary ).
